2.2. Analysis, evaluation of alternatives, and use of new technologies. New Product Design.

The Integral Analysis of an oil field is an important source of information, and provides the base on which it will be possible to evaluate the use of new technologies or the design and/or development of new products. The use of new techniques and/or new products allows the operator to reduce their operating costs.

As mentioned previously, the appropriate technical-economic solution for each system is the main objective of our intervention.

2.3. Study and material selection for drilling, production, injection, and oil conduction.

Our objective will be to achieve the appropriate product selection from the technical-economic point of view. This is an engineering task that requires knowledge of the materials, as well as careful evaluation of the atmosphere where it will be in use. In this sense our experiences in the oil field or in similar facilities have provided us with a large amount of information, as with the failure analysis.
The material selection will be carried out on the basis of the characteristics and performance of the products, but will also take into account the cost.

The purpose of the material selection consists of: a) providing resistance at the waited level of tensions, b) providing resistance to the widespread corrosion, c) minimizing the pitting, and d) eliminating the possibility of induced cracks by corrosive environment (catastrophic failure).


2.4. Study and Integral Analysis of Pipes.

The oil and gas production in the oil field can introduce corrosion and other problems in the facilities, as much in the wells as on the surface.
Corrosion can not be considered as an individual problem, but rather as a part of a more complex system of analysis.

The Integral Evaluation of an oil field is an important tool in reducing the Operative Total Cost. The optimization of the system production-materials allows the reduction of the consumption of materials, especially in the case of the line pipe, production pipes, and sucker rods.

The cementing of this objective should implement technical economic solutions to each system.

The oil field must be considered as "everything" because it is a closed system. However, universal solutions do not exist. Each problematic system should be analysed independently. This is connected to the new product developments that adapt to the particular problem.

Firstly, the problem should be characterized and identified, then the alternative should be discussed, and finally the Improvement Program is applied. This should be monitored with a certain sequence, and corrections applied if necessary.


2.5. Failure Analysis of Materials.

3.1. Integral service of analysis, evaluation, and execution of drilling well programs.

It is well-known that the drilling activity requires dedication, technical knowledge, and experience in the area.

Throughout this service we intend to carry out an integral program in which we will supervise, control, correct, and improve the variables that are involved in the drilling task.

From the selection of the appropriate team to drill the well, to the materials to be used, the services, and the resulting execution of the well, the best technical and economic alternative for each case will be evaluated.

3.2. Design and selection of tubular for wells (casing, tubing, line pipe, drill pipe, drill collar, accessories).

The design of tubular essentially concerns an analysis of stress. Combining this analysis with a correct selection of materials and a good economic study, we will obtain the optimum design for each case.

In a well, the acting loads cannot be known with accuracy, and therefore design factors, as well as security factors, are used.

In making a well, a string, or a line into a useful structure, they should be made whilst considering the security, the economy and the future possible uses.
It is then about minimizing the risk using the most economic design.
How can we minimize the risk?. By knowing in detail the materials and the strengths, and by evaluating in detail the loads and the stresses that the materials will support.

We have a wealth of experience in the design of strings for applications in wells with severe conditions as a result of their deviation, depths, pressures, temperatures, or corrosive environments. We have been given a large number of design recommendations, in which the contact with the users were very close in order to achieve the best material performance.

In general, the pipes are susceptible to failure because in many cases they have excessive and/or deficient handling, unsatisfactory design, or are lacking an appropriate selection process. If a lack of inspection is added to this, a potential failure becomes a real possibility. To mitigate this we offer an inspection service, because through checking the points over it is possible to act before the pipe will be used.

The Analysis of Ways and Effects of Potential Failures (AWEPF) is a systematic process for the identification of the potential failures of the product design or processes before these actually happen, with the purpose of eliminating or minimizing the risk associated to them.


3.4. Selection and analysis of accessories and others of a drilling string.

The accessories are very important pieces in the oil conduction in both the production stage and in the stage of drilling.

These accessories do not always have the appropriate treatment when deciding their use, and treating them is in many ways a secondary process. By having an appropriate analysis of the accessories to use, savings will be made in time, process improvements, accidents, and failures.
